HILDA Thorneycroft celebrated a milestone birthday in the company of a very special friend, fellow centenarian Dulcie Sykes.
Dulcie, who turned 100 last September, joined Hilda to celebrate her big day.

The pair met at a ladies' group in Warmsworth several years ago and have remained friends ever since.

Hilda's party at the Graceholme Club in Warmsworth was organised by her son Keith and included family and friends.

Keith, of Warmworth, said: "She enjoyed the day very much. She didn't want to be overwhelmed by a party but we talked her into it and she loved it."

Born in Bolsover, Wakefield, Hilda moved to Doncaster when her father, a miner, worked in Maltby. After marrying her husband Christopher she moved to Warmsworth where she still lives.

As well as Keith, grandchildren Jackie, 47, and Peter, 50, two great-grandchildren Hannah, 17, and Bethan, 15, and step-great- grandchild Jordan, 12, also attended the party.
